CAIRO, April 18, 2018 – The Egyptian Armed Forces killed leader of a takfiri group, Nasser Abu Zakoul, in central Sinai, an army statement carried by the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) said on Wednesday. Troops of the Third Army raided a number of areas in central Sinai and exchanged fire with a group of takfiris, killing Abu Zakoul, the statement said. The Third Field Army's operation was part of the wider Egyptian Armed Forces' comprehensive ‘Sinai 2018' operation, added the statement. The security forces seized two grenades and a number of arms and lots of ammunition in the raids, it added.
