SINAI, Egypt, April 14, 2018 - Twenty seven highly-dangerous terrorists were eliminated and 114 others were arrested in Central and North Sinai over the past few days as part of the comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018, which started on February 9, the Armed Forces said in a communiqué it issued on Saturday. Another 21 wanted criminals were also arrested and referred to the authorities concerned for taking the proper legal action against them , the communiqué, the 19th since the start of the operation, said. A total of 15 cars used by terrorists were also seized and destroyed while 43 unlicensed motorbikes were also destroyed, the communiqué, carried by the official Middle East News Agency (MENA), said. The Armed Forces destroyed also 150 hideouts and warehouses that contained explosives, a number of wireless communication devices, automatic rifle, food supplies, military attire and quantities of chemicals and ammunition. Moreover, the military engineers discovered and detonated 30 explosives that were planted to target army personnel during their operations in the areas of action. Twenty cannabis and bhang farms along with 1,350 kilos of pure heroin ready for smuggling were also seized in Northern and Central Sinai, the communiqué added.
