KHARTOUM, April 7, 2018 - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Sudanese counterpart Omar Al Bashir are keen to defend the interests of two countries' peoples, Sudanese Minister of Water Resources, Irrigation, and Electricity Moataz Moussa said on Saturday. Minister Moussa added that the current visit of his Egyptian counterpart to Khartoum was a historic because aimed at strengthening the two leaders' attitude, which will directly lead to the sustainability of stability in the Egyptian-Sudanese ties. Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker arrived in Khartoum, late on Friday in a two-day official visit. He was received by his Sudanese counterpart and members of the Egyptian Embassy led by the Ambassador Osama Shaltot. His visit aims at discussing ways to enhance co-operation between the two countries in electricity. Minster Moussa said after his meeting with his Egyptian counterpart that an electrical link project between the two countries will be implemented soon. He pointed out that the demand for electricity in Sudan is growing significantly, adding that his country is currently building a number of new electricity stations. "The electrical link with Egypt will play a vital role in meeting the growing demand for electricity," he told the Middle East News Agency.
