CAIRO, February 28, 2018 - The government approved the building of the biggest power generating station in Damietta, Governor Ismail Abdel-Hamid Taha said on Wednesday. The LE775-million power plant will be built to serve the Damietta Furniture City, the governor told reporters in Cairo after attending a cabinet meeting. The government has also approved a plan for providing gas and telephone services to the Damietta Furniture City, he said. President Abdel-Fatah El Sisi inaugurated the first phase of the Damietta Furniture City project. The project when completed is expected to create 25,000 job opportunities as well as 40,000 indirect jobs.It aims at developing the industry of furniture.
