Madinaty Golf Club has won the Egypt Golf Cup for the first time in its history, defeating Palm Hills in a final match held at the New Giza Golf Club. The match concluded with a 3-3 tie, necessitating a playoff round where Madinaty's players secured the victory. This win marks Madinaty's success in the second edition of the tournament. Madinaty Golf Club's path to the title included a victory over Katameya Heights Club in the quarter-finals, followed by a win against Ein Sokhna Club in the semi-finals, before the decisive match against Palm Hills. The Madinaty team comprises experienced players and emerging talents, including Karim El Sabaa, Hassan Ismail, Ahmed El Helwagy, Salma El Shamy, Amr Nagy, Wael Soliman, Aly Fahmy, Sherif Kamal, Yansa Anderson, and Mohamed Salah. Josh North, General Manager of Madinaty Golf Club, expressed his satisfaction with the club's inaugural win of this cup. He praised "the great efforts made by all players and officials to achieve this accomplishment," noting that winning the title "enhances Madinaty Club's position as one of the most prominent clubs in golf in Egypt." North stated that the Egypt Golf Cup victory "represents a starting point towards more championships, and is an extension of the great successes achieved by the club during the past period." He highlighted that since its establishment, the club has hosted numerous local and international tournaments, including an event in the Asian Tour series in 2022 and the Arab Junior and Ladies Championship scheduled for 2025. Madinaty Golf Club was also named best golf course in Africa for 2023 and 2024 and has received the award for best golf course in Egypt for four years. The Egyptian Golf Federation congratulated Madinaty Golf Club on winning the Egypt Cup and extended its best wishes to all participating golf teams.
