Al-Sisi reviews efforts to enhance higher education, scientific research

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met on Monday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour, Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority Ahmed El-Shazly, and Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Ahmed El-Azzazi.
During the meeting, discussions centered on the progress of construction projects within educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The state's ongoing efforts to enhance the academic and research capabilities of universities and scientific institutions were also reviewed.
President Al-Sisi was briefed on the development of private university construction projects nationwide, aimed at accommodating the growing number of students in higher education institutions. This initiative aligns with the government's policy to establish and equip Egyptian university campuses in accordance with international standards.
Presidential spokesperson Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that the president was also updated on the advancements in digital transformation and the automation of educational and research services across universities and institutions linked to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The discussion covered strategies for optimizing technology in education, leveraging digital tools to enhance the delivery of educational content, and fostering greater student engagement.
El-Shenawy added that President Al-Sisi directed the government to continue expediting the construction of educational infrastructure. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of integrating digital systems and programs to modernize and enhance all facets of higher education and scientific research, in line with the state's strategic vision for advancing university and postgraduate education.
The Egyptian government is committed to aligning scientific research and higher education with labor market demands and national development objectives. A key aspect of this strategy includes prioritizing research and educational institutions that specialize in applied sciences, technology, artificial intelligence, digitalization, and engineering.
