Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) hosted an international golf tournament at Madinaty Golf Club in collaboration with Rotary Club Cairo Golf Madinaty, as part of the company's commitment to social responsibility. The tournament, which attracted over 60 amateur and professional golfers from various nationalities, aimed to raise awareness of polio and its eradication.
Omar Hisham Talaat, Chief Business Development Officer at Talaat Moustafa Group, emphasized the group's dedication to social responsibility, stating that the tournament was organized to promote awareness of polio and its eradication.
"We are committed to contributing to the well-being of our community," said Talaat. "This tournament is a testament to our dedication to promoting health and social good through our corporate social responsibility initiatives."
Youssef Qadri, Head of Commercial Development at TMG clubs, highlighted the tournament as part of a series of initiatives and events that the club has been organizing for the past four years in partnership with various civil society organizations. He emphasized the club's desire to leverage its success – having won both Best Golf Course in Egypt and Best Golf Course in Africa awards – to contribute to social responsibility efforts.
"We believe that our success as a golf club comes with a responsibility to give back to the community," said Qadri. "This tournament is a prime example of how we are using our platform to raise awareness about important issues like polio eradication."
Iman El-Ghamrawy, founder and Vice President of Rotary Club Cairo Golf Madinaty, highlighted the significance of the partnership between the club and Talaat Moustafa Group.
"The golf tournament to eradicate polio is the first tournament organized by Madinaty Golf Club in collaboration with Rotary Club Cairo Golf Madinaty," said El-Ghamrawy. "It serves as a model for fruitful and effective collaboration between civil society institutions and leading private sector companies represented by Talat Moustafa Group."
Madinaty Golf Club was recognized as the Best Golf Course in Africa in 2023, surpassing over 900 other courses across the continent. The club has also been awarded Best Golf Course in Egypt for three consecutive years (2021, 2022, 2023) according to the World Golf Awards, which specialize in evaluating golf courses globally. The club is managed by Troon, a leading global golf management company.
Since its inception, Madinaty Golf Club has hosted numerous local and international tournaments, contributing significantly to attracting sports tourism to Egypt.
