Egypt adopts policies to boost exports, especially to African markets: Madbouly

This came during a Sunday meeting to discuss exports and the operation of a fast shipping line to ship agricultural crops to some European countries.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said that Egypt adopts specific policies to facilitate Egyptian exports' access to foreign markets, especially African ones.

Madbouly affirmed that Egypt adopts specific policies to work to increase the volume of Egyptian exports and open more foreign markets to access them, by providing more facilities and incentives to Egyptian exporters, whether with regard to transportation, or the establishment of logistical warehouses for African countries, as well as benefiting from opportunities exports available to various sectors, especially the food industry and agricultural crops, in order to achieve the ultimate goal of the state, which is represented by the President's vision of achieving exports worth $100bn.
The meeting was attended by Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance; Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport; Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry; and officials of ministries and concerned authorities.
Madbouly explained that the government seeks to work to overcome the various difficulties and challenges facing the Egyptian export process, including the demands that there be ships to transport various Egyptian goods and ship them to foreign countries, especially African countries, and from here work must be done to implement this immediately.
He pointed out in this regard that the Minister of Transport is ready for implementation, and then there must be immediate coordination between the Ministers of Transport, Trade and Industry and the Agricultural Export Council, to determine the required paths for the target countries, whether in Europe or Africa, or elsewhere, and start implementing that immediately.
Madbouly also noted the importance of speeding up the implementation of various efforts that would contribute to the development of trade exchange between different countries.
The Minister of Transport referred to the cooperation with a number of international shipping lines, explaining that the Egyptian state is allied with the four largest international shipping lines. Stressing the readiness of these alliances to help us export any quantities we wish to export; Whether to Europe, Africa, or others, we are ready to export from tomorrow.
Al-Wazir explained that we need an integrated shipping plan to be prepared by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, or by the Agricultural Export Council, provided that it is handed over to the Ministry of Transport and we will implement it immediately.
He reviewed efforts to operate a fast shipping line (Ro Ro) to ship agricultural crops to some European countries, stressing that there is cooperation and coordination with the ministries and concerned authorities in this regard.
