18.9% increase in volume of trade exchange between Egypt, Arab countries in first 9 months of 2022: CAPMAS
The value of Egyptian exports to Arab countries amounted to $8.8bn

Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics showed an increase in the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and the Arab countries, recording $21.9bn during the first nine months of 2022, compared to $18.4bn during the same period in 2021 — an increase of $3.5bn or 18.9%.
The value of Egyptian exports to Arab countries amounted to $8.8bn, compared to $8.2bn — an increase of $620m or 7.6%.
Saudi Arabia came at the top of the list of top 10 Arab countries importing from Egypt, recording $1.8bn in imports, followed by the UAE at $1.3bn, then Libya at $874.6m, Sudan at $637.6m, Morocco $628.2m, Jordan $554.5m, Algeria $546.8m, Iraq $379m, Kuwait $346.9m, and finally Lebanon with $335.3m.
Meanwhile, the agency indicated that the value of Egyptian imports from Arab countries increased to $13.1bn, compared to $10.3bn — an increase of $2.9bn or 27.9%.
Saudi Arabia topped the list of top 10 Arab countries exporting to Egypt, recording $6.4bn in exports, followed by Kuwait at $2.4bn, then the UAE at $2.2bn, Oman $625.7m, Bahrain $423.4m, Sudan $364.3m, Jordan $184.5m, Lebanon $161.4m, Algeria $101.3m, and finally Libya $80.5m.
Additionally, the value of Arab countries' investments in Egypt recorded $8.2bn during FY2021/22, compared to $3.1bn during FY2020/21 — an increase of 163.8%.
The UAE ranked first in the list of top ten Arab countries investing in Egypt, with the value of its investments in Egypt amounting to $5.7bn, followed by Kuwait with $669.3m, then Qatar with $518.3m, Saudi Arabia $491.6m, Bahrain $457.9m, Tunisia $58.7m, Jordan $51.9m, Morocco $51.1m, Lebanon $28.3m, and finally Libya $19.3m.
Finally, the value of remittances of Egyptian expats working in Arab countries increased to record $21.9bn, compared to $19.8bn — an increase of 10.9% — while the value of remittances of Arabs working in Egypt decreased to reach $114.9m, compared to $117.8m — a decrease of 2.5%.
Saudi Arabia ranked first in the list of top ten Arab countries sending remittances to Egypt, sending remittances amounting to $11.2bn, followed by Kuwait at $4.4bn, then the UAE at $3.4bn, Qatar $1.5bn, Jordan $774.2m, Oman $162m, Bahrain $104.1m, Yemen $79.9m, Iraq $43.7m, and finally Lebanon $39.5m.
