Egypt expresses condolences to Indonesia for victims of football match
It is a dark day for all those interested in football: FIFA President

Egypt expressed its sincere condolences to the government and people of Indonesia and to the families of the victims of the football match tragedy, which resulted in several deaths and injuries.
In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt stressed its solidarity with Indonesia in this painful incident, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
The Indonesian police announced that more than 174 people were killed — including children and security men — and about 180 others were injured due to riots following a derby match on the island of Java.
The Indonesian authorities opened an urgent investigation into the incident and also issued instructions to suspend league matches.
This was the result of a brawl between supporters of Arima and Persebaya Surabaya Javanese clubs following Arima's 3-2 defeat in a match held in Malang Regency, Java.
Officials said that the riot broke out as a result of thousands of Arima fans rushing to the field of the stadium after the loss of their team. While Persebaya players immediately left the field, many Arima players that were still on the field were attacked.
According to reports, most of the victims fell after the police fired tear gas on the stands, which caused a panic among the large crowds of fans at the stadium.
"The world of football is in a state of shock after the events that took place in Indonesia," FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a statement on the FIFA's website.
"It is a dark day for all those interested in football, and an incomprehensible tragedy, I express my sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims who lost their lives because of this tragic incident."
"All the thoughts and prayers of FIFA and the entire football community are with the victims, the injured, the people of Indonesia, the Asian and Indonesian Federations, and the League Association there at this difficult time," he added.
