Egypt's Al-Sisi receives India's Defense Minister, discuss bilateral military cooperation
Cooperation efforts aim to exploit the capabilities and infrastructure available in the two countries

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received on Monday, the Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, to discuss bilateral relations and joint cooperation between the two countries, in addition to issues of mutual concern.
The spokesperson foot the presidency Bassam Rady, said that the meeting discussed ways to enhance military and security cooperation between the two countries, especially with regard to cooperation in joint manufacturing, transfer and localization of technology.
Cooperation efforts aim to exploit the capabilities and infrastructure available in the two countries, as well as cooperation in the field of training, rehabilitation and joint exercises, and the exchange of experiences and information.
This came in the presence of Lieutenant-General Mohamed Zaki, Minister of Defense and Military Production, as well as Ajit Gupte, the Indian Ambassador to Cairo, Nivedita Shukla, First Undersecretary of the Indian Ministry of Defense, and Alok Tiwari, Private Secretary of the Indian Minister of Defense.
Rady stated that the president asked to convey his greetings to the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, pointing to Egypt's pride in the close historical ties it has with India, and its keenness to enhance the areas of bilateral cooperation, especially military and defense, as well as aspiration to activate the partnership between the two countries.
For his part, the Indian Defense Minister conveyed to the president the greetings of the Indian Prime Minister, expressing his country's appreciation for the growth and prosperity of Egyptian-Indian relations.
He also stressed India's interest in deepening these historical relations in light of the comprehensive development boom that Egypt is witnessing under Al-Sisi -according to the statement of the presidency-, as well as the Egypt's pivotal and decisive role in combating terrorism.
Singh expressed his country's aspiration to exchange experiences and consolidate the military and security aspect within the framework of joint cooperation relations between the two countries.
He also acknowledged that Egypt is among the most important trading partners of India in Africa and that bilateral trade has expanded significantly. He noted with satisfaction the close cooperation in multilateral forums between India and Egypt.
