Ehab Nasr, Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, held a bilateral consultations session with the Polish side in the Polish capital, Warsaw.
The Polish side was headed by Pavel Yablonsky, the Deputy Foreign Minister for economic and development cooperation, Africa and the Middle East.
The consultations session included a discussion of bilateral relations between the two countries, both political and economic, and various aspects of technical and sectoral cooperation, including cultural and tourism cooperation.
They also discussed ways to enhance this cooperation in a way that meets the aspirations of both sides and contributes to increasing investments and trade volume in light of the available opportunities, in order to build on the state visit of the Polish president to Cairo last May, which resulted in the signing of a number of important agreements.
Nasr expressed Egypt's aspiration to strengthen relations with the Polish side based on the considerations of the common interest between the two countries, reviewing the economic and investment opportunities provided by Egypt, especially in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and infrastructure projects.
The two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, as they agreed on the importance of relations between Egypt and the Fishgrad Group, which includes Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
They also discussed the latest developments of the Palestinian issue and the Egyptian efforts to achieve peace and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and the latest developments of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
The issue of illegal migration was also discussed, while reviewing the Egyptian efforts exerted in this framework.
On the sidelines of the round of consultations, Nasr held several meetings with Polish officials, as well as members of the Egyptian-Polish parliamentary friendship group.
All the meetings reflected the keenness of the two sides to consolidate the ties of cooperation between the two countries, as they reviewed the nature of the distinguished partnership that unites Egypt and Poland since the exchange of diplomatic representation between them in 1927 and the opportunities available to strengthen those relations.
The meetings highlighted the importance of cooperation in the fields of investment, Tourism, Antiquities, digitization, agriculture and supply chains, and taking advantage of the return of the direct flight line between Cairo and Warsaw since last May in supporting these areas, taking into account that Poland is among the top five countries exporting tourism to Egypt.
