The Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) — in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) — through Ezdehar Programme organised a workshop in which 35 industrial project owners in the chemical and packaging industries participated. Participants were introduced to the various financial and technical services of the agency and provided specialised consultations to help them develop their productivity and marketing. Additionally, the needs of these enterprises were identified with the aim of meeting them in coordination with the various concerned authorities in the country. Moreover, they were introduced to the new Project Development Law, the incentives and advantages it provides, and the tax facilities that they can benefit from. This comes within the framework of the MSMEDA's efforts to help develop the SMEs sector and provide various aspects of support — especially for industrial projects — in a way that supports the state's directives to expand local manufacturing to meet the market needs of various products and services. This would eventually contribute to the growth of these enterprises and continue the success of the affiliated Project Development Unit of the MSMEDA to provide various services to SMEs in the governorates. Global Amazon — with which the MSMEDA cooperates — participated in the workshop to provide the necessary support to enterprise owners and familiarise them with marketing and e-commerce mechanisms and how to display their products on the company's official platform, as well as targeting new markets for export. Raafat Abbas — Head of the Central Sector for Non-Financial Services at the MSMEDA — stressed that cooperation with the GIZ has been ongoing for years. He also pointed out that the Ezdehar Programme is being implemented for the eighth time as part of a series of technical programmes that aim to accelerate the growth of companies in various industrial fields. This edition aims to support about 60 start-ups working in the chemical and packaging industries sector and help them expand their services in a scientific manner. Abbas added that the implementation of these specialised technical programmes is part of the framework of the agency's efforts to support industrial projects and provide all necessary support to increase the competitiveness of the industrial sector in cooperation with partner agencies.
