The British Council held a Partner Schools Conference in Egypt on Sunday to shed light on the British education system in Egypt, support schools in providing all British qualifications, and forge new partnerships.
The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education, the British Council, and leaders from British Council Partner Schools.
Elizabeth White OBE — Country Director of the British Council in Egypt — said that "the aim of the conference is to focus on education in a post-pandemic world, recognising leadership challenges, working towards a safe culture for pupils, and allowing for professional development opportunities for school leaders."
She added that "the British Council's partner schools are a community of over 2,000 schools delivering UK international qualifications. It's a community that's genuinely global and spans South and East Asia, the Middle East, North and sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and South America."
For her part, Eman Sabry — Director of Private and International Schools at the Ministry of Education — said that the ministry is working hard to discuss all developments with all schools to provide the necessary improvements to the educational process within international schools and to exchange all information and experiences, and that the British Council has maintained all channels of communication open with all education stakeholders, the Department of Education, UK donors, and school leaders, and the result of this constant contact has made it easier for all partners to work together to offer students world-class options.
Furthermore, Fakhr Al-Jaafari — Director of Exams at the British Council in Egypt — said that facing the challenges imposed by the pandemic on the educational process was not easy, and the British Council has been working to provide the best educational support to schools — whether for distance or in-person education — with the aim of providing an incredibly high educational quality that parents can strive to expose their children to.
