Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has met with Wolfram Diener, President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, the German trade fair ground and organizer, to discuss ways of enhancing future cooperation between the two sides and benefit from the great experiences of the international platform in field of exhibitions.
The minister expressed the ministry's interest in strengthening joint cooperation with the German Messe Düsseldorf, as it is one of the most important global entities specialized in this field.
She said: "The German agency can benefit from components and capabilities that Egyptian market possesses in organizing more commercial events in various productive sectors, especially since events held in Egypt are of interest to a large number of countries, especially African countries."
Gamea further highlighted the importance of establishing an official framework for cooperation between the Egyptian government and German Messe Düsseldorf through signing a cooperation agreement between the two sides based on an annual exhibition plan set by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Egypt.
For his part, Wolfram Diener revealed the platform's current orientation towards the Egyptian market, as it is a major gate to the Middle East and Africa.
Diener elaborated that the authority's participation in organizing Food Africa and Pacprocess exhibitions in Egypt reflects its interest in the promising Egyptian market in the international exhibitions sector.
"It is possible to hold and launch the Safe Food initiative implemented by the Messe Düsseldorf in cooperation with the United Nations in Egypt. The initiative aims to help developing countries to produce, package and store safe agricultural products with lower wastage rates," he said. "Additionally it is likely to benefit from the e-marketing platforms of the German Messe Düsseldorf in enhancing trade cooperation between business circles in the Middle East."
Diener has welcomed the approach of signing a cooperation agreement between Messe Düsseldorf and the Egypt Expo and Convention Authority (EECA) with the aim of setting a future road map for cooperation between the two sides.
Messe Düsseldorf is ready to transfer its experiences in the field of exhibitions as well as ways to spread culture of trade fairs to the Egyptian side, he concluded.
