Trade Minister explores ways to improve services provided to business community
Committee formed to develop vision for merger between Export, Import Control Organization and Chemical Administration: Minister Gamea
Published in Daily News Egypt on 24 - 10 - 2021

Nevine Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry, affirmed the ministry's keenness to improve the services provided to the community of exporters and importers, represented in product examination procedures and the customs clearance, in a way that contributes to facilitating the foreign trade movement.
Gamea said that the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) plays a major role within the ministry's strategy aimed at promoting and developing foreign trade and achieving the goals of the ministry's plan to increase exports to $100bn annually.
This came during a meeting between Minister Gamea, Chairperson of GOEIC Issam Al-Naggar, and representatives of the Chemical Administration. Hanan Salam, Advisor to the Minister for Institutional Development and Human Resources, also attended the meeting.
Gamea pointed out that the current stage requires the Ministry's related authorities to keep pace with the great developments taking place in the Egyptian economy.
She directed the formation of a committee from both GOEIC and the Chemical Administration to develop a comprehensive vision for the planned merger between the two parties, taking into account all considerations related to workers and available assets, in a manner that maximizes the use of all available capabilities.
The leaders of GOEIC affirmed their keenness to upgrade the role of the authority, in order to preserve the reputation of the Egyptian product abroad and prevent the entry of any poor-quality products to the local market.
