'I never interfere in Egyptian judiciary': President Al-Sisi

Egyptian President says government directs provision of necessary allocations to develop judicial system to achieve prompt justice

"You bear responsibility before God in your judgments, I have no role in this place, and will never interfere in court rulings and you will never allow me to do that," Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi told judges during the Judicial Day ceremony which is being held for the first time on Saturday.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Justice Minister Omar Marwan, members of Supreme Council of Judicial Bodies, and heads of judicial bodies are attending the event that was held at Al-Manara International Conference Center in New Cairo.
Al-Sisi said during the ceremony that he is closely following the judiciary sector, stressing that he knew the role, status and course of justice in Egypt through his brother, who works as a judge. "I have the honour that my brother is among the members of the judiciary, from whom I learned and understood the role and position of justice in Egypt."
He said, "You bear responsibility before God in your judgments, I have no role in this place،
"I will never interfere in court rulings", stressing that "non-interference in the affairs of the judiciary is a golden rule that we cannot deviate from," adding: "We affirm that the judiciary is one of the main authorities of the state, due to the justice it achieves that spreads reassurance to every citizen."
The Egyptian president said that the government directed the provision of the necessary allocations to develop the judicial system to achieve prompt justice, pointing to the need to speed up the provision of judicial services to citizens through the development of headquarters, technological applications and special services.
He congratulated the judges on the Day of the Egyptian Judiciary, saying: "All support, appreciation and respect to you, every year and you are good, and the judiciary in Egypt is always proud of you and raises its flag to you, and is able to achieve complete justice among people."
The celebration of Judiciary Day came according to a decision by President Al-Sisi, at the meeting of the Supreme Council of Judicial Bodies (Supreme Judicial Council – State Council – Administrative Prosecution – state cases), which was held on 2 June 2021, in the presence of the Minister of Justice and heads of judicial bodies.
During the meeting, the Minister of Justice reviewed the most prominent achievements regarding the implementation of the decisions issued by the meeting of the Supreme Council of Judicial Bodies last June, especially with regard to the start of women's work in the State Council and the Public Prosecution.
Marwan confirmed that 11 female judges were transferred to work in the Public Prosecution as of the beginning of the new judicial year in early October, in addition to the appointment of a large number of female members of the Administrative Prosecution Authority and the State Litigation Authority as of the beginning of the judicial year.
The Egyptian state has come a long way in achieving prompt justice, as it was able to amend some legislation that hinders the litigation process. Qualification courses have also been prepared for judges in all degrees and types of courts so that they can practice their work accurately, and most courts have been developed at the level of the Republic and the establishment of new courts.
