Government provides EGP 500m for contractual public workers' wages
Overdue payments will also be disbursed before the Eid Al-Adha holidays, taking into account the social dimension to these employees and their families.

Egypt's Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait has announced that EGP 500m has been allocated to pay salaries of contractual workers in the public sector outside Cairo on the scheduled dates, starting this July.
Overdue payments will also be disbursed before the Eid Al-Adha holidays, taking into account the social dimension to these employees and their families.
In a statement on Saturday, Maait added that the Egyptian government had agreed to some new benefits, to improve the job conditions of employees.
This was also to lay the foundations for a work environment that stimulates innovation, and contributes to raising performance efficiency and improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
The minister said that it was decided to preserve the right of contractual workers who have their salaries disbursed from funds and special accounts to get promoted by raising the grades of their jobs. This contributes to achieving job and social stability for them.
He indicated that it is permissible to include the practical and scientific experience of these workers before the civil service law comes into force. This is in light of the decisions made by the Central Agency for Organization and Administration (CAOA), and the opinion of the State Council's General Assembly of Legal Opinion and Legislation departments.
Maait said that the employment rules for this segment allow the workers to transfer from one place to another while maintaining their job degree. The transfer must also be based on a request by the worker himself, or with the aim of maintaining public interest. The worker must also be needed at the unit to which he's being transferred.
Maait said that employees at these funds and special accounts may be delegated to temporarily carry out the duties of another job of the same degree as their own job, or the degree directly above it, for no longer than four years in each unit.
