System includes periodically updated database for doctors, hospitals

Egypt's Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed announced, on Monday, that an electronic system to follow up on the training process for Egyptian fellowship doctors at all hospitals has been mobilised.
The system includes a periodically updated database, whether for the doctors or hospitals to which they are distributed, and approved departments for training. This comes as part of the Ministry of Health and Population's strategy to advance professional medical education.
The announcement came after a virtual meeting held by Zayed on Sunday evening, to follow up on the training programmes for Egyptian fellowship doctors at hospitals across the country.
The meeting took place in the presence of the ministry's leaders, heads of entities, ministry deputies, hospital directors, and fellowship coordinators nationwide.
During the meeting, the minister addressed a detailed report on the training programmes for Egyptian fellowship doctors and their distribution in hospitals.
Zayed directed for the speedy completion of the plan for distributing new doctors in the Egyptian fellowship programme, in accordance with the specified standards.
The minister highlighted the importance of providing modern educational methods for the Egyptian fellowship trainees. This should take place in accordance with the methods of professional medical education that are followed in the HMS-Egypt Training to Teachers (T2T) programme.
Professional medical education includes an interactive education system, which requires that the trainees present a clinical report on patient cases in various medical specialties.
These reports will be presented to the trainer and the scientific council in each specialty. Trainees will also be trained in preparing and writing medical reports.
