Egypt's PM directs for enhanced cooperation implementing 'Decent Life' initiative

Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly directed, on Wednesday, for the utmost efforts and coordination to be exerted to implement the presidential "A Decent Life" initiative, to develop Egyptian villages.
During a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Madbouly asserted that this project contains many details and challenges which require joint efforts and coordination between different ministries.
In a different context, Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed reviewed efforts to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
She said that COVID-19 vaccinations have been made available to those unable to travel to vaccination points in cooperation with Egypt's ambulance service. She noted that some elderly recipients have received the vaccine at home.
Zayed also announced that the government will provide vaccines for 175,000 teachers who will supervise the Thanaweyya Amma (high school leaving) exams.
Moreover, the minister said that Egypt had received the first batch of raw materials to start manufacturing the Chinese Sinovac vaccine.
The first batch materials will allow Egypt to manufacture about two million doses of vaccines, plans for the manufacture of 40 million doses of the vaccine set to take place in the coming period.
She added that a meeting took place with a delegation of Chinese experts at Egypt's Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines (VACSERA). The meeting took place in preparation to start manufacturing the Sinovac vaccine in Egypt.
Zayed noted that VACSERA would become the main factory for manufacturing the Chinese vaccine in Africa.
Meanwhile, she affirmed that the World Health Organization (WHO) has hailed Egyptian efforts to eliminate the Hepatitis C virus.
