Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has held a meeting with BSH International officials to discuss the company's expansion strategy in the Egyptian market.
The BSH International delegation was headed by Louis Alvarez, CEO of BSH Home Appliances – Egypt. The meeting also dealt with a new project set up in Egypt by the company, a subsidiary of the International Robert Bosch Group, for the production of home appliances.
Gamea said that the meeting reviewed the company's new project in Egypt, for the production and manufacture of household appliances, which is located in the 10th of Ramadan City.
It aims to meet the needs of the Egyptian market in terms of household appliances, whilst also exporting to a number of markets in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
The minister affirmed the Egyptian Government's keenness to attract more investments and global industrial expertise to the domestic market.
This will contribute to increasing economic growth rates, upgrading national industry, upgrading the quality and competitiveness of Egyptian industrial products and creating more job opportunities.
Alvarez noted the company's keenness to invest and expand in the Egyptian market as one of the most important manufacturing and export hubs in the MEA region.
He also said that the company signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project with the Egyptian Government in 2019. All project procedures are currently being completed in preparation for the construction process.
Alvarez pointed out that the first phase of the project is being built on an area of 80,000 sqm, and is contributing to providing more job opportunities.
