Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly directed, on Wednesday, forming a ministerial committee to take urgent measures to help the return of Egyptian workers to Libya, in addition to facilitating the movement between the two countries.
During a cabinet meeting, Madbouly expressed the Egyptian government's keenness to support development projects in Libya with the aim of improving the economic conditions there.
Madbouly informed the cabinet on the discussions with his Libyan counterpart Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh during the former's visit to Libya on Tuesday.
He pointed out that the Egyptian delegation's visit to Libya led to setting a date for resuming the Egyptian-Libyan Higher Committee, after about 12-year suspension.
Madbouly directed the government to coordinate with its Libyan counterpart in order to prepare for the next meetings of the Joint Committee.
Egypt and Libya have signed 11 cooperation protocols in several fields, including transportation, housing, and utilities. The most prominent outcome of the recent visit was reaching an agreement to facilitate the entry of Egyptian goods into the Libyan market.
On Tuesday, Madbouly visited Tripoli along with 11 ministers' delegation for discussing joint cooperation fields.
During the visit, Madbouly discussed with Dbeibeh boosting relations between the two countries along with preserving stability and security in Libya.
The visit included signing 11 Memoranda of Understanding (MoU), in order to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields. The deals included transportation, road, infrastructure, and health projects.
Both sides agreed to increase cooperation in the field of manpower, to ensure the return of Egyptian workers to Libya, as thousands left the war-torn country due to previous clashes.
Other agreements addressed electricity and telecommunications linkage projects.
