GOEIC inspection unit obtains EGAC accreditation
GOEIC Chairperson Ismail Gaber said the unit obtained this accreditation due to the approach the organisation has adopted in complying with the highest international quality standards.

The Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC), headed by Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea, will grant ISO IEC17020:2012 accreditation to the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) inspection unit.
GOEIC's inspection unit is now a category I inspection body under the ISO in the sampling and virtual inspection of labels, and labels for final product circuit breakers.
GOEIC Chairperson Ismail Gaber said the unit obtained this accreditation due to the approach the organisation has adopted in complying with the highest international quality standards.
He also said that GOEIC's inspection unit is the organisation's first entity to obtain the accreditation, and that the unit is committed to maintaining compatibility with international specifications for this product.
Gaber added that the organisation has a cutting edge over other bodies that have obtained the ISO-9001 certification, and that all GOEIC's laboratories are ISO-17025 certified in food and industrial testing.
He added that GOEIC is the only entity in Egypt that has an ISO-17065 quality certificate in the quality matching for home appliances that operate with liquefied gas field.
"GOEIC is keen on improving services system provided to exporters and importers by applying the latest systems and adhering to rules followed internationally in procedures of examination and sampling in a manner that contributes to facilitating trade between Egypt and foreign markets," Gaber said.
EGAC also has a mutual recognition agreement signed with the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) in accreditation of medical calibration, testing laboratories and technical competency testing service providers and inspection agencies.
