Misr Italia to establish Mideast's first vertical forest in NAC
Published in Daily News Egypt on 03 - 08 - 2019

Misr Italia Properties signed a cooperation agreement with Stefano Boeri Architetti, founder of the "Vertical Forest" concept, to establish the very first vertical forest in Egypt and the Middle East, which will be located in IL Bosco project in the heart of the New Administrative Capital (NAC).
“We aim at introducing trend-setting concepts that can improve the Egyptian real-estate sector and sustain the country's plan to achieve environmental sustainability,” Mohamed El-Assal, CEO of Misr Italia Properties, said during a press conference on Wednesday.
He added that this forest aligns with Misr Italia's vision to construct environmentally conscious communities in the heart of nature and surrounded by the green vast spaces.
Stefano Boeri, CEO of Stefano Boeri Architetti, said, “We are designing the first Egyptian Vertical Forest in an unprecedented and unique way. It will mainly consist of three 30-metre-high buildings, blending both nature and architecture perfectly. Wrapped in hundreds of green plants and trees on balconies and windows, the vertical forests aim at limiting pollution in urban cities."
Architetti added that the vertical forest concept was granted numerous awards, including the International Highrise Award in 2014 and the Best Tall Building Worldwide Award in 2015 by CTBUH.
“We are working on spreading the concept around the whole world, starting from Milan, throughout different continents, and to the Middle East and North Africa," he added.
Architetti is collaborating with Egyptian designer Shimaa Shalash as a local partner and the botanist and landscape designer Laura Gatti, to design architectural masterpieces.
With total project investments of EGP 3bn, the planned vertical forest buildings will host serviced apartments and a five-star delux international hotel chain, to be announced soon, while the other two buildings are going to include branded apartments for the same chain.
With the construction scheduled to start in 2020 and expected to be delivered by 2023, Misr Italia Properties is about to change the real estate sector in the whole region.
