Glorious Farida Osman gets bronze at World Swimming Championships
Osman qualified for the final on Friday after finishing fifth in the semis with a time of 25.79 seconds.

Egyptian swimmer Farida Osman won the bronze medal in the women's 50m butterfly final at the 2019 World Swimming Championships in Gwangju, South Korea after finishing third in the final with a time of 25.47 seconds on Saturday.
Osman qualified for the final on Friday after finishing fifth in the semis with a time of 25.79 seconds.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhy, congratulated Osman and the Egyptian Swimming Federation, headed by Yasser Idris for the historic achievement.
Having started swimming at the age of four, Osman represented Egypt at the 2011 FINA junior World Championships before becoming an Olympian at only 17 when she participated in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
She was seventh at the World Championships in 2013 and, two years later, finished fifth in the 50m butterfly at the World Championship with a time of 25.78 seconds, an African record at the time. She still holds the African record with a 25.39-second finish in Budapest.
