Al-Qasr Al-Eini Hospital is few steps away from being developed and is only waiting to select the construction company to apply the process, according to state owned media outlet Akhbar Al-Youm. Mohamed Osman Elkhosht, the president of Cairo University, met the delegation of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) on Sunday to discuss the steps of the hospital's development project following Cairo University.
Expressing his appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Elkhosht pointed out that the project of developing Al-Qasr Al-Eini has reached the pre-final stage. The next stage of the project is to choose consultants from international offices, and he declared that there is a clear time plan for the implementation phase.
Elkhosht also confirmed that the development process has started already by developing the emergency unit with Egyptian funding in cooperation with the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.
The development plan includes the engineering assessment of existing buildings, their condition, and the extent of their needs for renovation. The project also aims to develop clinics, departments, emergency units, operation rooms, and to increase the number of beds, equipment, and laboratories.
