The number of Japanese tourists coming to Egypt hiked by roughly 40% during the first three months of 2019, Masaki Noke, Japanese ambassador to Egypt told Daily News Egypt during an interview.

Noke explained that the number of Japanese tourists that visited Egypt in 2017 reached about 32,000, while last year it increased to 41,000.
He revealed that the number of Japanese tourists increased quite rapidly by 75% in the period from 2016 to 2017, meanwhile the number rose 30% in the period from 2017 to 2018.
"And finally, this year the number of Japanese tourists visiting Egypt hiked by 40% during the first three months of 2019, so I would hope this positive trend would continue." Noke elaborated.
The ambassador ensured that Egypt has a wonderful tourism presence which will excite tourists from all over the world including Japanese tourists.
In terms of the procedures that the government has to take in order to boost Japanese tourism movement into Egypt, the ambassador asserted the need to increase the number of Egyptian direct flights between Japan and Egypt, noting that the number of Egyptian direct flights between Japan and Egypt is limited.
