Al-Sisi inaugurates new four bridges, last phase of regional ring road
Minister of Transportation reviewed during ceremony projects recently implemented to upgrade roads network

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi inaugurated several roads, bridges, and the axis of Upper Nile value a total of EGP 7.9bn, during a ceremony Sunday attended by the Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and the head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Kamel El-Wazir.
Al-Sisi inaugurated four bridges that included Qous bridge in Qena governorate, Borg Al-Arab bridge in Alexandria, axis of the Upper Nile's Tama bridge, and Baltim bridge all implemented by General Authority for Roads, Bridges, and Land Transport and the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, as well as the last phase of the north-western ring arch of the regional road.
During the inauguration, Minister of Transportation Hisham Arafat gave a detailed presentation regarding all the implemented projects under the National Roads Project and worth EGP 32bn.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Minister of Defence Mohamed Zaki, Minster of Military Production, Mohamed Al-Assar, Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal and Minister of Transport Hisham Arafat.
During the ceremony, a documentary film entitled “The Way to the Future”, was aired to present Egypt's role in achieving development and economic growth through the development of the road network. The documentary pointed out that Egypt realised that the road to achieve economic renaissance begins only with having strong road network, as this will open way for more investments. It further reviewed the country's achievements throughout the past four year in advancing roads sectors
Moreover, the documentary also presented projects implemented by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, which included central ring road, which runs from Cairo/Bilbes road and to Dabaa axis to connect the new cities.
In 2014, President Al-Sisi launched a national project for roads, which includes upgrading and constructing roads which aims to establish a new international road network.
