Published in Daily News Egypt on 10 - 07 - 2018

Completing the chain of providing unprivileged people with well-established houses, Tayha Misr Fund announced on Tuesday that it has completed the project of rehabilitation and reconstruction of 7,264 underprivileged houses in 232 villages distributed in 15 governorates.
The rehabilitation of degraded houses has been completed in 10 stages, starting in 2016, with a total cost of EGP 200m. More than 35,000 people in 232 villages benefited from the project.
The process included rehabilitation of buildings, paving of floors, electricity, and internal drainage, restoration and erection of roofs. Homes were handed over to the beneficiaries with a photocopy of their national ID.
Restructuring the houses took place in several governorates including Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Sohag, Assiut, Dakahlia, Qena, Beheira, Sharkeya, Monofeya, Kafr El-Sheikh, Aswan, Luxor, and North Sinai.
The Tahya Misr Fund was launched by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in 2014 to receive donations to bolster the Egyptian economy.
Fayoum governorate ranked first in terms of the number of houses that were developed, with 912 houses in 29 villages, followed by Beni Suef governorate with 686 houses in 21 villages, Sohag governorate with 295 houses in 10 villages, and North Sinai governorate 500 houses in 24 villages.
