Three halls to be implemented in Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, New Tiba in Luxor, says sports minister

Egypt's minister of housing, Mostafa Madbouly, held a meeting with Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz to follow up on the executive steps taken for the construction of three multi-purpose covered sports halls, in preparation for hosting the 2021 World Men's Handball Championship.
In that regard, Madbouly said in a press statement on Tuesday that there are intensive meetings between the officials of the two ministries, and China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), which is the company that will implement the halls.
Moreover, the meetings are also attended by the Egyptian Handball Federation and the advisory office in charge of the project.
These intensive meetings are being held with the aim of working on speeding up the completion of the contracts for their signing within a month.
Madbouly pointed out that the planned implementation duration is 18 months, to allow enough time for the project's completion before the start of the handball world cup that will be held in January 2021.
For his part, Abdel Aziz said that these three halls will be used for the competition's matches, as well as a number of other halls, including some in the New Administrative Capital.
Also, he pointed out that Egypt will benefit from and use the new halls for other sports games.
The minister of sports announced that the three halls will be implemented in Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and New Tiba in Luxor.
He explained that the reason for the selection of these cities was that they have solid infrastructure and airports serving them.
"Egypt will be able to host all world championships with these new halls and with its infrastructure
in the sports sector," the minister of sports asserted.
The 2021 IHF World Men's Handball Championship will be the 27th event hosted by the International Handball Federation and the second to be held in Egypt.
This will be the second IHF World Championship hosted by Egypt, as in 1999, Egypt successfully hosted the 16th edition of the championship, which Sweden won.
