The value of state expenditures from July to October 2017 came to EGP 300.6bn, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS). The CAPMAS said in a recent report that the most prominent aspects of expenditure during that period are debt interests, as the value of these interests reached EGP 110.5bn, 35.8% of the total of these expenditures. Wages came second, accounting for 25.5% of total expenditures. Expenditures in this area reached EGP 76.7bn, compared to EGP 70.5bn during the period from July to October 2016. According to the CAPMAS, purchases accounted for 3.4% of the total expenditures during the aforementioned period. Total state expenditures on purchases recorded EGP 10.2bn. Total expenditures on the area of support, grants, and privileges reached EGP 53.8bn, accounting for 17.9% of the total expenditures. The CAPMAS said that the value of spending on purchasing non-financial assets amounted to EGP 21.9bn, accounting for 7.3% of the total expenditures. The state also spent on other areas that were not mentioned in detail, with the spent amounts reaching EGP 27.5bn, accounting for 9.1% of the total expenditures. The state's revenues during the same period in 2017 reached EGP 179.2bn, according to the CAPMAS.
