Published in Daily News Egypt on 19 - 03 - 2017

Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr said that the scheduled meeting of the Egyptian-Lebanese Joint Higher Committee on Monday will witness the signing of a number of official documents between the two countries. These documents focus on several fields, including consumer protection, support of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and cooperation in the industrial sector.
Additionally, the two sides will also participate in international fairs and exhibitions, as well as cooperate over intellectual property protection, tourism, empowerment of women, social affairs, labour, environmental protection, public administration, youth and civil services, veterinary services, culture, and sports.
The 8th session is scheduled to include meetings of experts from both sides on Monday and Tuesday. Nasr will chair the Egyptian side in the Egyptian-Lebanese ministerial meeting on Wednesday, while minister of economy and trade Raed Khoury will head the Lebanese side of the committee.
Nasr pointed out that investment, tourism, agriculture, culture, trade, and industry will top the committee's discussions, noting that the committee will discuss boosting cooperation in joint investments, in light of the Egyptian government's recent efforts aimed at developing the investment environment of the country. She added that Egypt works on creating a positive atmosphere for foreign investors through eliminating all investment obstacles.
Nasr stressed the importance of increasing Egyptian exports to Africa through the "Egypt-Lebanon to Africa" initiative, which would achieve an economic boom in the Arab countries.
