Darwish is to present SCZone development plans during "Builders of Egypt" forum
Forum kicks off on 14 March, with the participation of 1,000 business leaders
Published in Daily News Egypt on 26 - 02 - 2017

The head of the Suez Canal Special Economic Zone (SCZone), Ahmed Darwish, is set to present during the third round of the "Builders of Egypt" forum—launching 14 March—the development plan for the zone in the coming years and the ability to attract investors, along with the opportunities available for local investment and the role of Egyptian construction companies in developing the zone.
The forum is organised by the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors (EFCBC), in cooperation with Excellent Tours under the slogan "Egypt's National Projects: a National Vision for the Future".
During the forum, Darwish will present a number of existing projects and the SCZone's future target projects, which represent a goldmine of opportunity for local construction companies, as the zone has a high competition potential, especially considering the tendency to link between it and ports, as well as between the industrial and logistics zones that will be established.
According to a press release issued by EFCBC, Darwish will also present a human resources development plan, along with the potential customs and tax incentives that will be granted to investors. He will also present a map of the industrial land plots and their allocations.
The forum will see a broad governmental presence at its third session, along with over 1,000 international and local business leaders in the fields of construction, finance, real estate, and project management.
Moreover, the forum aims to enhance communication with the most prominent pioneers of the construction sector, exchange the latest experiences and best practices in the field, and review the size of the achievement of national projects, including the SCZone, the Suez Canal tunnels, the New Administrative Capital, the national roads network, the 1.5m feddan (1.557m acre) project, the social housing project, and the power plants project, in light of the recent economic reform programme.
A number of ministers will be participating in the forum to announce operational plans for a number of development projects that have been established in 2017. Attendees will also discuss the financing and availability of building materials, and they will develop a clear strategy to organise and direct the Egyptian construction companies to invest in them as a means of adopting the special policies and measures to achieve sustainability for the benefit of the national economy.
