Taxify started operating in Estonia in August 2013 and now operates in 17 countries, including Estonia, Finland, the Czech Republic, Serbia, South Africa, and Nigeria. According to the company's statement issued on Tuesday, Egypt is the first country to be targeted by the company in the MENA region. "Taxify deals in providing people with innovative solutions for private means of transportation," the statement read. The company said that it would be a tough competitor for Uber in Europe, and is now willing to go the extra mile and compete with Uber and Careem in Egypt. "Some might regard the private cars' transportation market as fully-satisfied and there's no room for one extra company. For that matter, the company clarifies that the Egyptian market is a highly-consuming market and there's room for plenty of investors to take part in the reforming process of the economic scene in Egypt," Taxify said. The company said that it is stepping up to find a middle ground between high quality, central authority, safety, and reasonable prices. Taxify announced that it will start operating in Egypt within the next month.
