CAIRO: A 26-year-old pregnant woman died in Alexandria of H1N1, the Ministry of Health announced, bringing the total of swine flu deaths in the country to eight. The woman was admitted to Alexandria Fevers Hospital on Saturday suffering from pneumonia and dyspnea, Abdel Rahman Shahin, official spokesperson for the ministry, said. She tested to positive for H1N1 and passed away the following day, Nov. 15. Fifty-nine new cases of swine flu were reported Monday, bringing the total number of cases in Egypt to 2,666, according to the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC). Out of the 59 new cases, 34 cases were found in schools - 24 of which in Cairo, three in Helwan, three in Giza, one in Alexandria, one in 6th of October city, one in Beheira and one in Kafr El-Sheikh. Two cases were also reported in the Faculty of Commerce at Ain Shams University and the Faculty of Engineering at the Arab Marine Academy. The remaining 23 cases are all Egyptians, three of which arriving from Saudi Arabia. Of the total 2,666 swine flu cases in Egypt, 961 cases were reported in schools, 104 cases in universities, and 2,520 cases have completely recovered, leaving 138 still undergoing treatment in hospitals.
