CAIRO: A shipment of 80,000 doses of the H1N1 vaccine is scheduled to arrive next week in Egypt, Abdel Rahman Shahin, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health said in an official statement. Priority will be given to pilgrims going to Hajj, doctors treating H1N1 patients, people who work in public transportation and public services and school and university students with chronic illnesses, health complications or a weak immunity system. So far, 1,030 cases of swine flu have been reported in Egypt, including three deaths, according to a statement by the Information and Decision Support Center. Last Thursday, a 23-year-old housewife from Giza died of H1N1. Amr Kandil, deputy minister of health for precautionary measures, noted that she was a diabetic and was hospitalized when her diabetes level had already reached 600, which is fatal. There are currently 42 cases undergoing treatment in hospitals.
