Egypt out to thrash minnows Djibouti
Published in Daily News Egypt on 12 - 10 - 2008

CAIRO: Egypt eyes another drubbing over minnows Djibouti in the 2010 world cup qualifier on Sunday to advance to the third phase of the qualifying stage.
The six-time African champions eased to a comfortable 4-0 victory over their underdog opponents in the first leg and are expected to thrash their guests on Sunday night.
The Pharaohs need a sole point to secure the first spot of Group 12 and they are expected to put on a muscle-flexing display.
However, Egypt manager Hassan Shehata will miss many key players due to injuries.
Middlesbrough s Ahmed Hossam "Mido is out through groin pain while Premiership top-scorer Amr Zaki suffers a calf injury.
And with German-based striker Mohamed Zidan not being called up to the game, Harras Al-Hodoud striker Ahmed Abdul-Ghani is expected to start.
Emad Meteb, who plays for Ittihad Jeddah on loan from Ahly, has already secured his place in the starting line-up.
With Djibouti receiving 26 goals so far in the qualifiers, the front duo should have an easy job in the Military Academy stadium.
Captain Ahmed Hassan and Ahly teammate Mohamed Abou-Trika will be pulling the strings in the midfield while Mahmoud Fathallah and Hani Saied are expected to play in the heart of the defense.
Even with four goalkeepers called up for the game, Essam Al-Hadari is sure to start.
