Platinum Stars close to Ahly clash

CAIRO: South Africa s Platinum Stars could be the first opponent to tackle five-time champions Ahly in the round of 16 of the CAF Champions League this season.
The ABSA Premier League side saw off Stade Tamponnaise of Reunion 2-0 in the first leg of the round of 32.
Ahly were deemed as winners Eritrea s Al-Tahrir after withdrew from the game due to an internal club problem.
Elsewhere, champions Etoile Sahel of Tunisia hammered Senegal s AS Douanes 5-0 in Sousse, with Mehdi ben Dhifallah scoring twice.
Moroccan champions Olympique Khouribga beat Arab Champions League holders ES Setif 2-0.
