Platinum Stars close to Ahli clash

South Africa's Platinum Stars could be the first opponent to tackle five-time champions Ahli in the last 16 phase of the CAF Champions League this season.
The ABSA Premier League side saw off Stade Tamponnaise of Reunion 2-0 in the first leg of the last 32 phase.
Ahli were deemed as winners in the last 32 encounter against Eritrea's Al-Tahrir after CAF announced the latter's withdrawal due to an internal club problem.
Elsewhere, champions Etoile Sahel of Tunisia hammered Senegal's AS Douanes 5-0 in Sousse, with Mehdi ben Dhifallah scoring twice.
Arab Champions League holders ES Setif were beaten 2-0 by Moroccan champions Olympique Khouribga.
