Ahli were deemed as winners in the last 32 encounter against Eritrea's Al-Tahrir after CAF announced the latter's withdrawal due to an internal club problem. Elsewhere, champions Etoile Sahel of Tunisia hammered Senegal's AS Douanes 5-0 in Sousse, with Mehdi ben Dhifallah scoring twice. Arab Champions League holders ES Setif were beaten 2-0 by Moroccan champions Olympique Khouribga.
