Ismaili representative drops Abd-Rabou hint
Published in Daily News Egypt on 23 - 11 - 2007

ISMAILIA: Ismaili representative Ahmed Swelam said on Thursday he was informed Fifa would rule in the Dervishes favor in Hosni Abd Rabou transfer saga.
Fifa informed the German company, which I represent in Egypt, and which is responsible for defending Ismaili s interests, that the final decision will be announced within a month.
They hinted that the ruling will be in Ismaili s favor, paving the way for Abd-Rabou to continue his career with the team, Swelam told FilGoal.com.
The Egypt midfielder initially joined Ismaili from French side Strasbourg on a one-year loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent if the former pay 500,000 euros in a certain date.
According to Strasbourg, Ismaili failed to meet the deadline for making the deal permanent, allowing the player to return to France.
But on the other hand, Ismaili insisted they paid the due money on time and refused to give the 23-year-old the green light to move back to Strasbourg.
Ismaili were also outraged by Strasbourg s declaration that the player will be sold to their rivals Al Ahly.
Abd Rabou penned a deal with Al Ahly, but then made a U-turn and expressed his desire to continue with Ismaili before the latter decided to take the matter to the international governing body.
We also knew that Abd Rabou will be banned for around four months for signing contracts with two clubs at the same time, Swelam added.
