Al-Nour Party loses Alexandria stronghold to 'For the Love of Egypt'
For the Love of Egypt leads in 13 governorates, except Salafist-oriented Matruh

Egypt's parliamentary elections results are soon to be announced but initial counts regarding electoral lists point out "For the Love of Egypt" electoral list's lead over three other electoral lists in the constituency of Upper Egypt.
However, in the West Delta constituency, Al-Nour Party list lost with 118,000 to For the Love of Egypt with 342,000 votes in unlikely expectations.
In Beheira, For the Love of Egypt ranked first with 477,146 while Al-Nour Party got 342,217 votes and competition was close. Al-Nour Party lead with 38,031 votes over For the Love of Egypt with 28,998 in the governorate of Matruh, which population is known to have Salafist and tribal tendencies.
While Al-Sahwa Al-Wataneya electoral list ranked last in nearly all governorates, Nedaa Misr also surpassed The Egyptian Front Coalition and Tayyar Al-Istiqlal in several governorates, according to preliminary results published by state media.
In Assiut, according to the head of the general committee for the governorate's elections Judge Gamal Abdel Rahman, a total of 530,260 votes were valid in comparison to 58,538 voided votes. The electoral lists ranked as following: For the Love of Egypt with 260,944, The Egyptian Front Coalition with 83,341, Nedaa Misr with 99,424 and Al-Sahwa Al-Wataneya with 62,464 votes.
In Minya, Judge Abdel Hamid Kamel head of the general committee said For the Love of Egypt had 381,152 votes, followed by Nedaa Misr with 129,940 votes, The Egyptian Front Coalition with 85,450 votes and finally Al-Sahwa Al-Wataneya with 64,629 votes.
As for Sohag, Judge Abdel Moneim Abdel Sattar of the general committee said 650,930 total votes were valid and 97,488 were voided. Once more, For the Love of Egypt won with lead with 291,503 votes, The Egyptian Front Coalition with 171,209 votes, Nedaa Misr with 107,208 votes and Al-Sahwa Al-Wataneya with 81,010 votes.
All above counts are initial estimations and final results should be announced by the Supreme Electoral Commission (SEC), which should also include the votes of over 28,000 Egyptians living abroad.
Out of those, nearly 23,000 cast their votes for the lists in Upper Egypt constituency and nearly 6,000 for the West Delta constituency.
