Published in Daily News Egypt on 09 - 06 - 2015

Colors Company hopes to collect $25,000 through the crowd-funding platform of Tennra.
Tennra is one of the first crowd-funding platforms in Egypt, depending on collecting the needed funds for the start-ups through individual investors as well as companies, in exchange for prizes in kind. Tennra in turn obtains a percentage of the successful fund achieved through it.
Colors presents applications for comics starring characters related to Eastern heritage, such as the Koshk Comics application, which includes stories like the 30 Wives of Shahryar, part of the 1001 Arabian Nights.
Omar Hussein, CEO of the company, said that the success the story last year encouraged the company to launch the second part of the Arabian Nights series. Hussein added that he will launch his application on both Android and IOS devices within the next few days.
Hussein further noted that he targets the Egyptian family in general, and the youth in particular through the application. He pointed to the importance of Facebook in communicating and interacting with his clients, whereby his followers have amounted to approximately 46,000 until now, noting that he targets over 100,000 followers by the end of this year.
As for providing the required funding for his project, Hussein said that he plans to present his company through the crowd-funding platform Tennra to collect $25,000. He clarified that the money would be used in launching advertising campaigns, while the preparations for attracting the fund will start by the end of the next Ramadan.
10,000 persons currently use the application, while the target is to increase them to 50,000 by the end of this year, says Hussein.
Regarding the company's expansion plans, Hussein clarified that he seeks to open up new markets in European countries, especially as applications with Eastern elements draw the attention of the users of this region. Hussein aims to start executing the expansion plan within three years.
Finally, Hussein added that he is preparing to launch an advertising campaign through Facebook by the end of this week to introduce users to the Koshk Comics application, and to attract the largest number of users, coinciding with Ramadan.
