The judicial disciplinary committee removed Judge Waleed Sharaby from his position on Saturday. Sharaby, a member of the "Judges for Egypt" movement, was a court chairman in North Cairo Court. Sharaby was accused of taking part in a movement that aims at disrupting national security, inciting strife between judges, being involved in politics and announcing the results of the 2012 presidential elections before the judicial committee's official announcement, state-owned Al-Ahram reported. Sharaby responded to the decision by issuing a statement: "If I could go back in time, I would have repeated the same actions, and maybe more." "God graced me with people's love, a grace that most judges don't enjoy, my sons and grandchildren will be proud of my work in the judiciary," Sharaby added. "Judges for Egypt" is a judiciary movement which announced the results of the 2012 presidential elections before the official announcement by the judicial committee. Sharaby himself announced the victory of former President Mohamed Morsi on 20 June 2012, four days before the official announcement. The movement was often accused of being affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.
