The National Coalition to Support Legitimacy announced it would boycott what it called "pro-coup businesses", and said it would continue to protest the "military extermination of demonstrators" during a press conference on Sunday. The coalition presented a ten point statement, which condemned violence against churches as well as stressing the peacefulness of their protests, claiming that "violent occurrences have been premeditated by the army." The coalition called on protesters to engage in civil disobedience by boycotting businesses that supported the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi as well as products of countries that support the military, but did not name any specific businesses. A number of representatives from different parties including Al-Wasat Party and The Building and Development Party also spoke during the press conference. The group said: "The anti-coup movement is a people's movement and a continuation of the 25 of January revolution," and accused the army of a policy of "extermination" to those who object to their policies. They also blamed security forces for the death of 36 Muslim Brotherhood detainees as well as the execution of 25 Central Security conscripts calling it an "attempt to cover up the death of 36 Brotherhood Members." The spokesmen called on human rights institutions to document and observe the violence occurring in Egypt, saying that the army "wants to push us into violence to turn us into Algeria or Syria...this will not happen." "Negotiation was always an option" the spokesmen for the coalition highlighted. "A number of initiatives were presented from different parties inside the coalition however they were refused by the military and pro-coup political parties." After the statement a number of speakers from different coalition parties called for the "discharging of the Minister of Interior due to his incompetence in protecting his soldiers as well as the Egyptian people."
