By Nourhan Dakroury The military gave Mohamed Morsi's regime multiple chances to be included in talks following his ouster, Defence Minister Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi said in a statement on Sunday. The statement was released after Al-Sisi met military and police heads, including Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim, on Sunday afternoon. Al-Sisi said during the meeting that Morsi's regime was not willing to listen to suggestions that would "correct the political path" and bring the regime to common ground with other political factions and the public. He stressed that complying with the Egyptian people's will was more important than ruling the country, adding that his call for demonstrations to give him a mandate "to deal with terror" on 26 July was also to send a message to the international media and community about the situation in Egypt. Al-Sisi also stressed that the military didn't coordinate with foreign countries about domestic affairs. The statement concluded that Morsi supporters are welcome to come back into the community, adding that the legitimacy should always be with the people.
