CAIRO: Three Egyptian families got to participate in the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) celebrations as winners of Visa's promotional campaign, the company announced in a statement.
Four winners were awarded 100-gram gold bars.
Cardholders who used their Visa or Visa Electron card issued by participating banks during the campaign period were automatically entered into the draw. The three winning families headed off to Dubai to enjoy the annual retail, tourism and cultural celebration, which ends Feb. 24.
"Visa is delighted to offer its cardholders such a unique reward and we hope that the winners enjoy a great family trip full of memorable moments, said Tarek Elhousseiny, vice president and general manager of Visa North and West Africa.
"Our promotions are a fun way of communicating to cardholders that Visa is a great way to pay. They actively encourage them to experience a multitude of benefits offered by Visa as a convenient, reliable and secure way to pay.
The campaign marks Visa's long-standing relationship with DSF as the preferred payment partner since the festival's inception in 1996, said a press statement.
Over an 11-year period, the number of visitors has more than doubled to reach 3.5 million and spending figures have multiplied almost five times to reach AED 10.2 billion.
I was thrilled to learn that I won a trip to DSF simply by using my Visa card. The best part is that it s for all my family and not just me, said Khadiga Fahmy, who won a family trip to DSF.
