German packaging company KHS opens Egypt office

CAIRO: KHS AG, a German-based company providing packaging technology for food and non-food industries, officially inaugurated its Egypt office, according to a press release.
"Egypt's recent growth in the food industry has been quite substantial and we certainly look forward to commencing our operation here. We are very confident that we can fill a need in the market for the premium services offered by KHS Egypt and its worldwide network of specialized expertise in the filling and packaging industries, said Erhard Magin, vice president for Africa, Near and Middle East.
The Cairo office is headed by General Manager Sherif Sabri and will be committed to the domestic manufacturing sector, responding to customers' needs in the areas of sales, equipment assessment, troubleshooting, machinery conversion, productivity enhancement and training.
A wholly owned subsidiary of Klockner Werke AG, KHS is a global manufacturer of complete filling and packaging systems for the food and non-food industries, with a focus on beverage applications.
The company was established in 1993 after from a merger between Holstein & Kappert AG of Dortmund and Senag of Bad Kreuznach, both of whom were established in the 1800s.
KHS AG maintains production plants in the United States, Brazil, Mexico and India, as well as several facilities within Germany.
In keeping with international standards and operating principles, KHS Egypt will incorporate the "one-face-to-the-customer approach, which ensures a consistent means of communication with its customers and is compatible with the company's global philosophy of offering a full range of quality services.
"Our primary focus will be the satisfaction of our customers through a focused and very customer-driven approach to meet all their operational needs and requirements, said Sabri."Our direct presence will prove to be an asset to our customers who will notice a significant reduction in lag time for all enquiries and parts release.
KHS is managed centrally from Dortmund, Germany and employs more than 4,600 employees worldwide. The company enjoys sales of 750 million euros.
