CAIRO: Ladies of Cairo, its time to frost yourself! Korloff Paris, one of the world's leading jewelry and precious items boutiques, opened its doors in Cairo on June 11 at CityStars. Korloff's Artistic Director and Chief Executive Officer Daniel Paillasseur came especially to Egypt to celebrate the opening. "Egyptian ladies love diamonds and jewelry, especially the big pieces so we found that there is a market for us in this country, Paillasseur told Daily News Egypt. "I love Egypt, the country is booming and more open than ever, so it was the appropriate time for us to open here, he added. Paillasseur believes that everything his company does should be done in-house, in order to ensure perfection in even the smallest details. His hands-on approach sets Korloff apart from the other brands and brings a level of quality and beauty to all of its products. The boutique features some of the designer's most coveted collections such as the Lady Korloff, Fantasme and Cancun. Besides it renowned diamond collection, Korloff is also specialized in jewelry, watches and an accessories collection that includes belts, cuff-links, pens and even eyeglasses, all of which are available at the Cairo store. The luxury watches line especially is becoming increasing popular worldwide. The timepieces have an original design that is both fashionable and practical. All of Korloff's jewels are shaped by hand and the watches are made in Bienne, Switzerland. Worldwide, Korloff is known for not only jewelry but also an haute-couture line, which Paillasseur plans to bring to Egypt in the near future. He emphasizes the importance of the Egyptian market and says Korloff has every intention of maintaining the highest of standards. The designer has a creative vision, which should bring the company the success it has already seen in the rest of the Arab world. Korloff Paris is brought to Egypt in partnership with the local jewelry boutique Vendome Palace, which boasts an impressive collection of high-end brands, such as Versace. "The market now in Egypt is all about brands. People are now concerned with 'who' they are wearing besides 'what' they are wearing, so it was time to bring Korloff's collection in Egypt, and I'm sure people will be fond of it, said Emile Fouad Botros, chief executive officer of Vendome Palace. Vendome Palace plans to expand Korloff Paris throughout Cairo by opening corners at all the major fashion destinations. "We already opened one corner at Vendome Palace at Ego [the clothing store] and we're planning to continue opening at different places, said Botros.
