CAIRO: An eyewitness said that the United States military attaché in Cairo was injured with his wife and daughter in a car accident in “October 6" City on Thursday. The source added that the truck driver who crashed into the attaché's vehicle was killed immediately while the attaché and his family sustained minor injuries. Some 6,000 people are killed annually in accidents on Egypt's roadways. The vast majority of deaths are the result of a lack of seatbelts, poor road conditions and little policing of traffic laws on the books. BN
