Singapore gets Perks by Kate lingerie e-commerce site
Published in Bikya Masr on 02 - 04 - 2013

SINGAPORE: Women in Singapore have long complained about the lack of quality romantic night wear and lingerie, Perk by Kate is to become Singapore's representative lingerie e-commerce site.
Similar sites have erupted across the region that enable women, and men, to purchase online the risque lingerie without being forced to meander the public streets with their bags. And women are responding.
“I am definitely already getting on the site and looking at what I want to surprise my boyfriend with,” 23-year-old recent university student Susanne Lo told Bikyanews.com. “It is exciting and now I don't have to go all over to find a number of brands.”
Perk was founded in February 2011, selling lingerie imported from the United States and the United Kingdom. The site offers a number of brands, including Eberjey, Mimi Holliday, Samantha Chang, Addiction Lingerie and others.
Perk's selection is “carefully curated” by the founder, Kate Low, their website says.
She argues that the lingerie selection in Singapore has become stale, which is why she decided to look overseas to offer a wider variety to her customers.
“Today, Low believes that Perk has a selection of lingerie which appeals to a niche group of both ladies and men alike, who are looking for a fuss-free way to shop for good lingerie for themselves or their partners,” said a press statement on the announcement of the new lingerie service.
Low says that her merchandising strategy focuses on bralettes, which offer a lot of comfort to ladies, especially in the hot and humid Singapore weather. She also sells moisture absorbing and also leak absorbent panties which are both made of patented fabrics. While she's only importing goods from overseas for now, Low hopes to bring her own designs to the market in the future.
“It's a good day for women and the bed,” added Lo.
